The Equal Right to Housing Act
Long title An Act to Provide for the Right of the People of Ibagli to Have an Equal Right to a Place of Dwelling; and for Connected Purposes
Date of Royal Assent 10 November 2005

WHEREAS section 50 of The Constitution Act, 1955, provides that every Ibaglian is equal under the law and shall be subject to equal protection and benefit under the law without discrimination, in particular, discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability;

AND WHEREAS in order to promote equality and social justice, it has been deemed essential that every person has an equal right to housing;

NOW THEREFORE, the QUEEN, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and Commons present in this present Parliament assembled, does enact the following:

1. Any person who refuses to sell or rent a housing unit to any person based on race, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, colour, religion, sex, or age is guilty of a felony.

2. Any person who refuses to sell or rent a housing unit to any person based on mental or physical disability is guilty of a felony unless the sale of the property would jeopardize the safety of the health of the person or of other persons living at the premises.

3. Any property owner who commits the felonies set out in sections 1 and 2 of this act seven times forfeits the property in question to Her Majesty to be sold.
