The QUEEN, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and the Commons in this present Parliament assembled, enacts as follows:
1. No medical practitioner shall be authorised to induce a miscarriage in a minor child unless:
- (a) he shall have received the written consent of the parent or guardian of the said minor child; or
- (b) the procedure shall have been authorised by a judge or other magistrate.
2. Any person who violates section 1 of this act is:
- (a) guilty of an indictable offence and is liable to a fine of not less than five hundred pounds and not more than two thousand five hundred pounds; and
- (b) to be referred to the Ibaglian Medical Practitioner's Licensure Board.
3. This Act may be cited as the National Health (Parental Consent for Therapeutic Abortions) Act, 2007.
