Douglas Sumner

The Right Honourable Sir Douglas Sumner, QC (1910–1991) was the Chief Justice of Ibagli from 1969 to 1972. In 1972, he attracted controversy when he upheld the conviction of aboriginal activist Joseph Malatae, who was hanged shortly thereafter. He resigned in 1972 after Parliament initiated the process to remove him from office.
