The Governor-General's Dragoon Guards is the senior regiment of the Ibaglian Army. It currently comprises two batallions:
- 1st Batallion (1 GGDG) - Formation Reconnaissance (Includes a ceremonial company)
- 2nd Batallion (2 GGDG) - Armoured
History
The regiment was founded as the Governor's Armoured Regiment in 1949, and was renamed the Governor-General's Armoured Regiment in 1955, following the independence of Ibagli. It was amalgamated with the Ibaglian Light Horse in 1960, becoming the Governor-General's Dragoon Guards.
Traditions
The quick march of the regiment is Milanollo. The slow march is the Life Guards Slow March. The regimental trot past is the Keel Row. The current colonel-in-chief of the regiment is Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of Ibagli. The colonel of the regiment is the Governor-General of Ibagli, currently Sir Steven Spell.
