ANNC

The Queen, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister of Ibagli, has been pleased to approve the appointment of the Right Honourable Sir Steven Spell as the next Governor-General of Ibagli.

Spell will serve in succession to Dame Annette Farquhar and will assume office in September 2006.

Background

The Right Honourable Sir Steven Spell, KP, GCRI, OIM, KCMG, has held numerous offices in Ibagli over the last decades.

From 1963 to 1994, Spell served as a Member of the House of Commons for the district of Colltik Bridge.

During his time in the House Spell served as Minister of Justice, Minister of Health, and Leader of the Government in the House of Commons during the Ministries of the late Prime Minister Henry LeVeque.

From 1985 until leaving the House in 1994, Spell served as Speaker of the House of Commons.

After his retirement from the House, Spell served as the first Ibaglian Governor of Hapalnia. As the seniormost Commissioner of Ibagli, he has acted as Governor-General on several occasions.

To Our beloved and faithful Senators of Ibagli, Members elected to serve in the House of Commons of Ibagli, and to all to whom these Presents may in any way concern,

Greeting:

A Proclamation

Whereas We have thought fit, by and with the advice of Our Prime Minister of Ibagli, to dissolve the present Parliament of Ibagli;

Now know you that We do for that end publish this Our royal proclamation and do hereby dissolve the Parliament of Ibagli accordingly, and the Senators and the Members of the House of Commons are discharged from their meeting and attendance.

In testimony whereof, We have caused these Our letters to be made Patent and the Great Seal of Ibagli to be hereunto affixed. Witness: Our Right Trusty and Well-beloved Steven Spell, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Ibagli.

Greeting:

A Proclamation

Whereas We are desirous to meet Our People of Ibagli as soon as may be and to have their advice in Parliament;

We do hereby make known Our royal will and pleasure to call a Parliament, and do further declare that, by and with the advice of Our Executive Council for Ibagli, We have this day given Orders for issuing Our Writs of Election in due form according to law, which Writs are to be dated October 16, 2006, to set forth Thursday, November 16, 2006 as the polling day and to be returnable to the Chief Electoral Officer on November 30, 2006.

In testimony whereof, We have caused these Our letters to be made Patent and the Great Seal of Ibagli to be hereunto affixed. Witness: Our Right Trusty and Well-beloved Steven Spell, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Ibagli.
