The Ibaglian Forces Decoration is presented to officers and non-commisioned members of the Ibaglian Army, Navy and Air Force who have completed twelve years of service. It is awarded to members of any rank who have a record of good conduct.

Eligibility and Criteria

The decoration is awarded to members of the regular and reserve forces as well as those who have held honorary appointments in the military. Service in the forces of other commonwealth nations may also be counted towards the medal if the final five years have been served with the Ibaglian Armed Forces and no other long service, good conduct or efficiency medal has been awarded for the same service. The medal may be awarded to persons in possession of any other decoration or medal, provided that the individual has completed the full qualifying periods of service for each award and that no service qualifying towards one award is permitted to count towards any other. The service need not be continuous.

Description

It is a decagonal gold-plated brass medal, 36mm in diameter.

Obverse A youthful effigy of Her Majesty the Queen wearing a wreath of laurel leaves in her hair and facing right, inscribed with "ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA - IBAGLI".

Reverse A crown and the shield of the coat of arms of Ibagli. The word "SERVICE" appears at the bottom between two palm fronds. The suspension consists of a small bar between two scroll arms at the top of the medal. The ribbon is 32mm wide, blue with three equally spaced thin white lines. The clasp (bar) is 6 mm high, has the shield of the coat of arms of Ibagli in the center surmounted by a crown, and is gold in colour.

Bars

A clasp (bar) shall be awarded for every subsequent ten years of service.

Wearing

The Decoration shall be worn as per the Order of Precedence for the Ibaglian Honours System and as follows:

It is worn the left breast, suspended from the ribbon described above, in sequence as indicated by the Order of Precedence.

The clasp is worn centered on the ribbon. If more than one clasp is worn, they shall be equally spaced on the ribbon.

Post-Nominals

Recipients may use the post-nominal letters "ID".

History

The decoration was introduced in December 2005 and has been awarded 800 times since its inception. Some 300 clasps have also been awarded.
