- 9:47 PM: A large scale evacuation of coastal cities is being initiated. The Governor-General on the advice of the Prime Minister has declared a state of emergency in all coastal areas. Collection of evacuees without access to transportation from local evacuation points will begin at 11:00 PM.
- 9:30 PM: According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, the tsunami is expected to arrive in Ibagli at around 3:45 AM.
- 8:45 PM: Warning sirens have begun to sound in Ibagli.
- 8:30 PM: A tsunami warning has been issued for most of the Pacific Ocean, including Ibagli.
