About Ibagli

Ibagli is an island country located in the South Pacific Ocean. Ibagli was originally inhabited by Polynesian peoples, it began to be settled by Europeans in the 1820s. Colonized by the British in the mid-19th Century, it obtained independence in 1955.

Ibagli is located South of the Equator and just West of the International Date Line, at a central location in Polynesia approximately halfway between New Zealand and Hawaii. The foreign jurisdictions nearest to Ibagli are Samoa, Tokelau (New Zealand), Tuvalu, and Wallis and Futuna (France).

The King and head of state of Ibagli is King Charles III, who is represented in Ibagli by the Governor-General of Ibagli. The current Governor-General is Sir Steven Spell. The head of the executive branch of Ibagli's government is the Prime Minister, currently Andrew Spearman. Ibagli has a unicameral Parliament. The single house of Parliament is called the the House of Commons. Until 2011, Parliament was bicameral, and consisted of the House of Commons and the Senate. The judiciary of Ibagli is comprised of the Supreme Court, the Crown Court, and the Magistrates' Courts. (More...)

Sir Henry LeVeque was the third Prime Minister and fifth Governor-General of Ibagli. He served as Prime Minister from 1972 to 1976 and 1977 to 1981. He served as Governor-General from 1987 to 1992.

He was born in England in 1913. Educated at Eton and Sandhurst, he served in the Grenadier Guards, seeing action in Europe in the Second World War, during which he won the Victoria Cross, the highest decoration for bravery while under enemy fire.

He moved to Ibagli after the war, where he set up a law firm. He was elected to the House of Commons in 1955. In 1968, he was elected Leader of the Liberal Party. He was victorious in the 1972 election, and was appointed Prime Minister. After losing a very close election in 1976, LeVeque became Leader of the Opposition, but won the 1977 election after the collapse of the Rockington government.

After his defeat in the 1981, LeVeque retired from politics. He was appointed Governor-General in 1987 by Prime Minister Charles Forrester. In 1988, he was created a Knight of the Garter by Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of Ibagli.

After retiring as Governor-General, he served as Chancellor of Thistledowne University. He died on 30 March 2006, and was given a state funeral in Haphonia.
