The Tobacco Revenue Act
Long title An Act to Provide for the Public Revenue Through a Tax on the Sale of Tobacco Products; and for Connected Purposes
Date of Royal Assent 8 October 2005

HER EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF IBAGLI reccomends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled "An Act to Provide for the Public Revenue Through a Tax on the Sale of Tobacco Products".

WHEREAS smoking is the possible cause of hundreds of diseases;

WHEREAS smoking greatly increases the chance of these diseases developing;

WHEREAS these diseases are strenuous and costly on our healthcare system;

AND WHEREAS it is the responsibility of the government to maintain the healthcare system and deter its citizens from unhealthy choices, it is believed increasing tax on cigarettes will discourage their use, therefore improving the general health of Ibaglians;

NOW THEREFORE, the QUEEN, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and Commons present in this present Parliament assembled, does enact the following:

1. The Minister of Finance shall be authorized to collect revenue in the amount of three Pounds per every 20 cigarettes or per every 5 cigars.

2. All revenue garnered from the provisions of this act shall be used for healthcare purposes.
