On the first intimation of a Demise of the Crown, an emergency meeting of the full Executive Council will be called. This accession council will direct the Governor-General to issue the following proclamation:

By Command,

ROGER POLLACK,

Prime Minister of Ibagli

GOD SAVE THE KING

S. Spell, Governor-General [L.S.]

This proclamation should be posted on the gates of Government House, and should be read from the steps of Parliament, as well as in all city and town centres across Ibagli.

The proclamation being issued, Parliament will be summoned to an emergency session if not currently sitting. The first order of business of the Parliament will be for members to take the Oath of Allegiance to the new Sovereign. Both houses will then vote on Addresses to the Crown in response to the official notification of the previous monarch's demise, expressing condolences upon the death of the previous monarch and loyalty to his or her successor. If at all practicable, this vote should be done by voice only.

If the demise occurs during a general election campaign, the election is delayed by two weeks (three or, rarely, more should the new date fall on a holiday). If the demise occurs on the day of the election, the election will proceed.

Civil servants retain their jobs after a demise of the crown.
