His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was the consort of Queen Elizabeth II the Queen of Ibagli.
The Duke was born in 1921 in Corfu. In 1939, he entered the Royal Navy, and graduated from the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth. He was Mentioned in Despatches for his services in the Battle of Cape Matapan in 1941.
In 1947, he married Princess Elizabeth, the heiress presumptive to the throne of the United Kingdom. He was created Duke of Edinburgh upon the marriage, and a Prince of the United Kingdom in 1957. He continued in his naval career until the death of wp:King George VI in 1952.
