A general election was held 15 October 2020. All 60 members of the House of Commons in the 19th Parliament were elected. The governing Liberal Party under the leadership of Roger Pollack was returned with its largest majority since 1972.
Date
The 18th Parliament would have expired three years after the date of its first meeting on 9 October 2017. The election for members of the House of Commons in the 19th Parliament must take place between 20 and 30 working days after the dissolution of the 18th Parliament.
