Lieutenant General The Right Honourable Sir William Barriter, OIM, GCVO, GCRI, DSO, OBE, ISO was the Governor-General of Ibagli from 1992 to 2005.

He was born in 1924 in London to Bernard and Josephine Barriter. The family moved to Ibagli in 1935, where William went to school at Exeter and Thistledowne. He joined the army in 1942, and saw action in the Pacific War. After the end of the war, he rose to the level of Lieutenant General, eventually becoming the vice-Chief of the Army.

In 1949, he married Jeanne Boulanger, a French-Canadian. They had 4 children.

In 1992, William was selected to be the 6th Governor-General of Ibagli. He held this office until 2005, when he left office shortly before his death.
