Theresa Brenton
Dame Theresa Brenton, DCRI is an Ibaglian Senator.
She was born on 18 November 1953 in Exeter. In 1981, she successfully a by-election for a seat in the House of Commons to replace Henry LeVeque, the former Prime Minister, who had recently resigned following the defeat of the Liberal Party. She was defeated in the 1985 General Election.
After her defeat, she worked at the Liberal headquarters as the press secretary for Liberal leader Bradley Hunter. After the Liberal victory at the 1989 election, she was appointed to the Senate. In August 2004, Vincent McNeese appointed her Speaker. She served until January 2006, when she was briefly replaced by Conservative Senator Kenneth Thompson during the Smallegan government.
After the fall of the Smallegan government, she was reappointed Speaker. After being implicated in the prorogation scandal, she was replaced as Speaker by Russell McHenry.
